APGAW is one of 270 parliamentary groups but what makes APGAW so unique is just how active the group is.   The Group aims to meet six times a year and is supported by a loyal membership of Peers, MPs and Associate Members.

At each meeting we aim to look at a different aspect of animal welfare and if action is required APGAW tries to be involved.  Over the last year APGAW has written to the Home Office, DTI, DEFRA and the European Commission.

In order to progress the welfare of animals the group has recently began to host ‘head to head’ style meetings - giving politicians the opportunity to hear a balanced view.

To read the Minutes for meetings held since 2000 please go to the Minutes Archive page.

The Group also attempts to investigate and report on an aspect of animal welfare each year - a full copy of the Groups reports can be found on Report and Publications page.
